Requirements

Must:
- Strong hands-on experience with modern cloud platforms (AWS preferred), especially services relevant to data ingestion, processing, orchestration, and storage. - Proficiency in Python and SQL, with a track record of building reliable, production-grade data pipelines and services. - Deep experience with event streaming and event-driven architectures using technologies such as EventBridge, Firehose, Kinesis, or Kafka. - Practical experience building, deploying, and operating containerized workloads with Docker and Kubernetes (EKS). - Strong expertise in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred) and modern CI/CD workflows (e.g., GitLab CI). - Ability to independently lead technical initiatives, make architectural decisions, and deliver high-quality outcomes. - Effective communication skills for working with engineering, analytics, product, and business stakeholders. - Experience mentoring others, improving engineering practices, and contributing to a high-quality data platform and team culture.

Responsibilities

- Build, operate, and optimise data pipelines across batch, streaming, and event-driven patterns using technologies such as EventBridge, Firehose, Kinesis, or Kafka. - Design and maintain cloud-native data infrastructure on AWS, including ingestion, processing, orchestration, and storage layers. - Develop containerised data services and workflows using Docker and Kubernetes (EKS). - Use Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred) and CI/CD pipelines to automate deployments and enforce consistent, reliable environments. - Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting to ensure platform reliability, data quality, and fast incident resolution. - Drive architectural improvements, reduce technical debt, and introduce better tooling, standards, and practices. - Collaborate with software engineering, analytics, product, and compliance teams to define requirements and deliver high-quality data solutions. - Mentor engineers, review designs, and contribute to the maturity and excellence of the Data Engineering function.
