We are looking for a Senior Backend Developer with 5-7 years of experience building backend systems that thrive in production traffic. You must know PHP intimately, understand modern practices, and grasp practical trade-offs between consistency, availability, and partition tolerance. Your experience should include optimizing databases, debugging race conditions under load, and making architectural decisions that are sustainable long-term. You think in systems rather than tickets, and prioritize reliability and performance over merely getting code merged. You are comfortable owning your work and ensuring it runs smoothly.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will build the engine behind our Workforce Management platform, which is used daily by over 200,000 people. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Designing backend features to handle enterprise traffic patterns across multiple regions.
- Optimizing critical paths for performance and reliability before users encounter issues.
- Following best practices for code quality, testing approaches, and production readiness.
- Partnering with the DevOps team on deployments, monitoring, and incident response.
- Championing operational excellence in technical decisions, balancing ambition with maintainability.
