Requirements
Must:
We are looking for candidates who have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Proven expertise in cloud infrastructure, automation, and integration is essential. Candidates should have consultancy experience, with a strong understanding of agile methodologies such as Scrum and Product Ownership. You should be skilled in GCP services, including BigQuery, Compute Engine, IAM, GKE, and Cloud Monitoring. Hands-on experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code is required along with proficiency in Java/Python & SQL for scripting and automation. Familiarity with CI/CD tools, a strong understanding of containerization technologies, and Microservices architecture like Docker is important. Additionally, experience in security best practices for cloud infrastructure, knowledge of additional IaC tools, and a Professional Certification in GCP are desirable. Strong problem-solving capabilities, attention to detail, excellent communication skills for explaining technical designs and processes, and collaboration skills for working effectively with cross-functional teams are crucial. Fluency in English (written and spoken) is necessary; knowledge of Dutch is a plus.
Responsibilities
As a Data Platform Engineer, you will help our customers develop and optimise their cloud platforms, enabling seamless integration, scalability, and automation. Your responsibilities will include designing and maintaining backlogs and sprint plans to optimize platform delivery cycles, establishing team standards based on industry best practices, and effectively integrating these into workflows and processes. You will design and manage cloud infrastructure on GCP using Terraform, automate provisioning and configuration management of infrastructure, and develop and refine CI/CD pipelines. Ensuring platform reliability and performance will be key, which includes implementing advanced monitoring and alerting systems, tracking data quality checks, and addressing data quality issues quickly. Additionally, you will identify and mitigate platform bottlenecks and security vulnerabilities proactively, continuously improve infrastructure, and share expertise with teams on best practices for infrastructure design and cloud operations while effectively communicating results and recommendations to stakeholders.
