DBA DB2

I am responsible for automating the management tasks within my team in a dynamically evolving IT landscape at the Belastingdienst. Together with my team of talented and creative professionals, I handle requests from application teams effectively. As a Database Administrator (DBA) specializing in IBM-Z, I work on execution, provide performance advice, and guide implementations, making it a multifaceted job as an ICT professional. My role involves maintaining the operational DB2 environment, reorganizing the database, and implementing necessary improvements as directed by data owners. I ensure compliance with standards and guidelines and provide answers to related queries. Additionally, I work on identifying and analyzing problems and advising application teams on solutions, collaborating regularly and sharing knowledge with the DBA expertise group. The department of Hosting and Integration Services, responsible for data center platforms such as VmWare, IBM, and Oracle Exadat, falls under my umbrella in Hosting Mainframe 2. I work with my team to maintain functioning infrastructure products for Mainframe CICS, DB2, Tooling, Batch, Java Hosting, and capacity. Alongside, I strive to expand the capabilities of these products. Moreover, this role involves being available for on-call duties, as IT operations at the Belastingdienst are 24/7. I work in the Information Provisioning department, the ICT company of the Belastingdienst, where I contribute to ensuring that the Netherlands can rely on reliable information provisions and ICT systems, serving not only the Belastingdienst employees but also large and small business owners and citizens.
